Audubon Beidler Forest Sanctuary: 336 Sanctuary Rd
Nestled within the ancient wetlands of Four Holes Swamp, the Beidler Forest Sanctuary spans over 18,000acres of untouched cypress-tupelo swamp, including one of the largest remaining virgin stands of bald cypress and tupelo gum trees in the world. Visitors explore the forest along a 1.75mile elevated boardwalk that winds through towering trees, black-water channels, and abundant wildlife; offering a rare chance to experience a living relic of the Lowcountrys wild past.
The sanctuary is also a center for conservation, research, and education, recognized internationally as a wetland of importance and an Important Bird Area, helping to protect migratory birds, rare plants, and vital ecosystems.

St. Paul Camp Ground: 6G39+W2 Dorchester
St. Paul Camp Ground is a significant African-American camp meeting site established around 1880. Organized by the nearby St. Paul AME Zion Church, the site was created to host annual religious gatherings and revivals. The layout consists of a central open-air tabernacle surrounded by dozens of simple cabins arranged in a circle. These structures serve as accommodations during the week-long camp meeting.
Despite modern updates, the Camp Ground retains much of its historic character; with over 50 tents, two stores, a storage house, and traditional privies on site.
Each year, faith-based gatherings continue to take place during the third week of October, preserving the tradition of community, worship, and fellowship on the property. https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=48651
